2008 ISCTSC Conference

The 8th International Conference on Survey Methods in Transport is scheduled to be held in France in May 25-31, 2008.

The conference will be held in the south-east of France at "Les Balcons du Lac D'Annecy".

The co-chairs of the Local Organising Committee for the 2008 Conference are Dr. Patrick Bonnel and Jean-Loup Madre.

The call for Abstract for this conference is now closed.

The 2008 conference continues the conference series initiated in 1979 that provided a venue for transport professionals (researchers, practitioners, modelers, planners, and others) to present their work, exchange information, network, promote international collaboration and served as a forum for the presentation of workshops, papers and posters. The 2008 conference has the overall theme of "harmonization", with a focus on inter- and intra- country data comparability. The Conference programme is organized around 16 topical workshops.

New for this conference is the opportunity to attend, at no additional cost, the final meeting of the European COST Action 355. COST, which stands for cooperation in scientific and technological research, is an intergovernmental framework that has coordinated nationally funded research in Europe since 1971. Transport has been one of the major areas of research activity. COST Action 355: Changing Behavior Towards a More Sustainable Transportation System is analyzing conditions that could reverse the growth in unsustainable transport demand by changing the behaviors of travelers, shippers, and carriers. The final meeting of COST Action 355 will be held in conjunction with the 2008 conference.

The conference is organised under ISCTSC and sponsored by:
